Boat Cleaning, Item Retrieval and more, in Oslo
At Fjord CleanUP, we know the Oslofjord inside and out – and that includes what grows on your boat. If a boat sits still for too long, barnacles, algae, and slime can clog jets, propellers, and intakes, slowing you down or even stopping your boat entirely. Instead of paying a large sum to have your boat lifted and cleaned, we can come to you and do the work right where it’s moored – saving you both time and money. Our team will clear away marine growth, unclog systems, allowing your boat to function as it should!
We also offer marine retrieval services for those unfortunate moments when something valuable ends up overboard: Phones, wedding rings, watches, sunglasses – you name it, we’ve probably found it before. For a minimum call-out fee, we’ll dive in using scuba gear, torches, and our years of underwater experience to give it our best shot. While we can’t guarantee recovery, we have an excellent track record… after all, we’re Fjord CleanUP!

Frequently Asked Questions
What equipment do you use?
We use hard plastic scrapers to remove the barnacles and mussels on the hull of the boat and the propellers. These have soft edges so we don’t scratch your boat. To clean the thrusters, and water intakes and outtakes (outlets), we use long-handled hard bristle brushes to reach all the way in to properly clean. We also use a larger brush to remove slime from your boat lights.
What if you do not find my lost item
Unfortunately we cannot guarantee that we find your lost item but as long as it is not too deep (more than 20meters) and the seafloor is relatively flat where you dropped it, then there is a high likelihood of success.
What other jobs do you provide?
-
Towing or transporting items on the water
-
Checking and securing moorings for boats and marinas
-
Installing artificial reefs and marine habitats
-
Supporting scientific and environmental projects
-
Planting seaweed forests for fjord restoration
Do you operate all year around?
Yes, we can clean boats, look for lost items or do other fjord related work even in the winter months. The water in Oslofjord can be slightly clearer in the winter due to less algae growth and less boats, so this can actually assist us in finding your item.
